Ed's Typewriter Repair

I'm currently on the search for a type-writer and I would always pass by this little shop called "Ed's Typewriter Repair" but it was always closed and rarely open. I did some research and found the shop's number on Yelp. I was calling every-morning to see when the owner would respond to his phone-calls. Finally, after about a week of calling every morning he would answer his call and I asked if I may visit his shop to purchase a type-writer. He told me pretty much that I only had 30 minutes to get to his shop or else he will be closed and hung up without even warning me! I just had to find out who this character was, so I got in my car and drove straight to the shop in less than 30 minutes!

All the years and history in this work Environment. Time is really price-less.

He gave me a hand-full of these.

He was really something else! As I walked in, first thing he made me do without hesitation was to solve some math problems. He made me solve Calculus problems because he says that "Math is a Universal Language."

Late-Night Shooting

We're out here on a late-night shooting. While everyone sleeps - we work. Footage is still in progress.  Pablo Chalott with an ollie over the fire hydrant while Andrew Borja would have those angles on the video-camera. Keep an eye out for Pablo's Video! Coming Soon.

We are surrounded by news, media, and torture, and at times it can become really over-whelming how we have to deal with it every-day. It's pretty ironic for me to say that since my job is pretty much news, media and torture! A piece of advice that I would like to give to a few people is to seriously stay away from all this junk. Take breaks and go for walks, socialize and get to know yourself. I am truly inspired by the theme of isolation and loneliness with a taste of the two classic 1976 films - Taxi Driver / Network.

Here's a video time-lapse of setting up the newspapers.

I want to thank all my friend who helped made this shoot possible! With the awesome vibes and team work anything can be accomplished. Huge thanks to Javier Ordonez and Sarah Zelman! You guys rock.
